Music Stuff
A buddy and I almost flew out to NYC to see The Weakerthans, but we decided to just wait for their CD release in the fall (with a tour, right?)
Hey Marseilles is a really good local Seattle band - the stage at the Skylark was a little crowded last night - 7 people with gear. I thought they were starting at 11, so when I rolled in at 10:10, I was a little sad to see them playing already. (Just like the time I saw them at El Corazon - always starting early!) The Skylark was full, so that's good news.
I was late because I went to Kell's to watch Ockham's Razor - nice folks. I went back to their show after seeing HM.
Earlier that day, I picked up the new Kaiser Chiefs...my only comment so far is that the FBI-Piracy warning is bigger than anything else on the CD. It's kind of like saying...our music isn't really that important. Our band is not that important. WHAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT IS THAT YOU DON'T COPY WHATEVER IT IS THAT IS ON THIS CD. YEAH! YOU! STOP! YOU'RE PROBABLY PLANNING TO RIP THIS CD TO YOUR IPOD - WE'D LIKE IT TO BE ILLEGAL, BUT WE KNOW THE COURTS (FOR NOW) WOULD RULE AGAINST US. WE'LL JUST SAY YOU SHOULDN'T, AND SLAP 'UNAUTHORIZED COPYING' ON THERE, AND LET PEOPLE WONDER.
