March!

Chicago was cold, and friends were busy. I flew out specifically for the Tossers show - if I missed that show, I'd be entirely dumb (or getting laid by some deliriously hot chick...read the whole post to find out!)

Friday night I would have been better off seeing Catch 22, but that's okay. Instead, I went to Gene & Georgetti's...italian steakhouse with pasta. The calamari was good. The steak had no flavor. No espresso (sp) before dessert. Fortunately, my host, his fiancee, my neice, and I were in good spirits...my college friend was a welcome addition. (Someone I had a minor crush on in college, but she's cool in her own rights.)

Saturday day, my hosts were busy, so I went to the Field Museum and...scratch that...I went to the St. Patrick's Day parade. It was cold, and there were lots of beads thrown. After an hour and a half, I took off for warmer environs.

Saturday night, my host's fiancee cancelled, as did my friend from college. Mike and I went to the Tossers show - it was good. The non-music highlight was a couple of girls we started talking to upstairs. One was a friend (and the other the sister of) the original fiddle player who was playing with them that night. The non-music stupid thing was the lead trash-talking Flogging Molly about something. (I realize that you probably get compared to FM a lot. Complaining about it just means you're some kind of drama whore, or ... well ...worse.)

Sunday was chill - I flew back to Seattle, and hung out for Sunday drinking.

I leave for the Me First & the Gimme Gimmes soon - I have good expectations for a fun time.
