Upgrade the dead!

I ditched Mozilla for Thunderbird (mail client) and Firefox today on my primary home machine. Thunderbird, I haven't played with too much - Firefox is just so good.

I found remnants of WildTangent on my machine - I think I ripped it out when AIM installed it, but I was pissed. I was still irked, so I removed AIM and installed Trillian (an old love). I finally have Messenger (of sorts) on my home machine. Messenger as its own, required IE, which is just a vulnerable ho. Oh, and MS - you suck. You'ev tried to make manual patching the biggest bitch ever, just to force the usage of updates through IE.

What's more, uh, only offering updates through *automatic* update? I realize by now that you've opened it up to manual approval of patches, but geez. SP2 was such a wreck, that I wasn't allowed to put it in at work, until the work-arounds became more public. Yeah, that's work-arounds to get around the OS.

I'm not grumpy.
